Fender 65 Princeton Reverb
One of Fender’s most enduring designs, the Princeton Reverb was once a favorite of guitarists for practicing and for “casual”/quiet gigs. Of course that was when distortion was still considered a bad thing.
Now, with 12 watts and a single 10” Jensen C10R, a Princeton will produce plenty of volume but start to overdrive at a level that’s perfect for recording or small clubs. These little amps have aged well.
Best of all, the tone from the 6V6 and 12AX7 combination is pure American tube heaven. Simple Volume/Treble/Bass controls make it easy to go straight to the classic Fender voicing. Reverb and Vibrato seal the deal.
The pure sound that many guitarists cut their teeth on years ago is back again—this time as the foundation for unforgettable tone.
