Gold Tone AC-5 Composite 5-String Resonator Banjo
The Gold Tone AC-5 is a super-affordable, high-quality, Bluegrass banjo—perfect for students, beginners and pro’s. It starts with a modern composite shell—lightweight but strong, extremely resonant and trouble-free. Coupled with a composite resonator back, the AC-5 produces a punchy low end, clear ringing highs and plenty of volume.
Gold Tone recommends the low-cost AC-5 as a great first banjo, but we think they’re tremendously practical travel/touring instruments. Composite won’t ever warp, and at only 6 lbs, they’re easier to haul and stow than all-wood banjos (and a lot less expensive).
