Gold Tone IT250R - Irish-Style Tenor Banjo
The IT-250 features a short scale, 17-fret neck and uses heavier strings tuned in fifths (GDAE—an octave below the mandolin). This traditional Irish setup provides the authentic, plunky tone that works with the bodhran, pipes and fiddles found in Celtic music.
A Whyte Laydie tone ring and maple resonator add power and volume, allowing for picking precision. The 1/2”-thick rim and neck are also made of maple for additional articulation and snap. High-quality hardware ensures years of durability and ease of adjustment and maintenance. A hard-shell case is included.
