The Gretsch Brian Setzer Black Phoenix has all the features that have made his Hot Rod series so popular, and takes everything up a notch. It features a bigger 17" width (the same dimensions as Gretsch's top-of-the-line White Falcon) with silver sparkle trim (like the gold sparkle on the Falcon). The headstock also features the Falcon-style "V" shape, "winged" vertical logo and sparkle trim.
Like the Hot Rods, it features 2 custom Brian Setzer-TV Jones-designed Hot Rod Filter’Tron pickups, a three-position pickup switch and single (count ‘em: ONE!) master volume control. Instead of being loaded with razzle-dazzle controls, this one's built for for a straightforward, aggressive playing approach.
The single-cutaway bound hollow body has an arched top, 1959-style trestle bracing and oversized, bound f-holes; the two-piece maple neck has a bound ebony fingerboard with Neo Classic thumbnail inlays. Other features include Grover Imperial tuners, pinned rosewood Adjusto-Matic bridge and Bigsby B6C vibrato tailpiece. Simple electronics; over-the-top aesthetics. This guitar is ready for the stage.

Why We Like Gretsch Guitars
When you think of Gretsch, it’s hard not to think of Mr. Guitar himself—Chet Atkins.
Whether you associate the Gretsch brand with the country gentleman’s impeccable style, rockabilly’s swagger, the '60s British invasion or music’s newest hitmakers, Gretsch guitars have a unique vibe and appeal.
We really like Gretsch’s classic looks and distinctive tone—and nobody else makes a Bigsby look as cool. We also appreciate recent improvements, including “Black Top” Filter’Tron pickups and the addition of new center-block models. But with all the new refinements, there’s still nothing more eye-catching than a timeless Gretsch.
