The P45 also features additional sampled sounds, including electric pianos, organs, vibes, and harpsichord—so it’s actually more than just a piano. For students, hobbyists or anyone who wants to enjoy full, rich piano timbre (and then some), the P45 does it all at a very reasonable price.
The full 88-note keyboard features Yamaha’s Graded Hammer system—which means lower keys for big bass notes offer greater resistance and higher keys/notes offer less, just like on a real piano. The sounds are a product of AWM (Advanced Wave Memory) technology, using stereo samples to create more spacious sounds.
Internal stereo 6-watt amps power a pair of 4.75” speakers for full-range sound; or you can use headphones to practice without disturbing others (a feature families and neighbors will appreciate).
Why We Like the P45
We offer keyboards for every level of performance—but most of those would be overkill for someone starting out or simply wanting a warm-sounding piano for the home. For those situations, we think the P45 is a great buy. It sounds really good; the weighted keys offer the same resistance as a typical acoustic instrument; the speakers are built in, so you don’t need an amp; and with a total of 10 voices, anyone will have even more fun playing or learning.
