Takamine Speciialty Shop EF37 Acoustic Electric

Takamine has been crafting high quality guitars long before Sam Donaldson started wearing a toupee.  Selecting the finest woods and using only the most skilled luthiers, Takamine’s Specialty Shop never rests on its laurels and continues building the world’s finest acoustic guitars.

Takamine sends the new decade off with a bang.  The 2010, very limited, EF37 is a masterpiece, and is so limited, only 10 will be made.  Fortunately for Corner Music, we have EF37 #3, and it’s a hum-dinger of a strummer.

Featuring the finest solid spruce soundboard and beautifully figured solid Koa for the back and sides, you could simply set this out in your living room and gloat about the awesome new art work you just bought.  However, I don’t think you’ll want to do that because this one is a pickers dream.  Seriously, I was told to get this online ASAP, but I didn’t want to stop playing it.  Even holding this guitar feels Soooooooo nice.  A nice full, but not too fat, neck is smooth and comfortable, and the guitar just purrs with glorious tone.  What I also love about this guitar is the onboard TLD Line Driver.  Using their patented Takamine six element design, the pickup transfers a flat signal, doing away with the clunky, and quite frankly, ugly eq.  What you get in return is a nicely balanced and natural sounding response without any harshness whatsoever.

Painstakingly hand-crafted and given its very own unique personality, this is an amazing guitar.  Yeah, I know I always say that, but this is an amazing guitar squared (if that’s at all possible).  The best part is this extremely limited guitar is actually priced less than some acoustics that aren’t even half this good.  Just look at the fine details with the snowflake rosette and the curly maple body binding.  Takamine even had the frets pleked for absolute playability and intonation.  What more could you want?  Except two EF37s...
