Gretsch 6122-1962 Chet Atkins Country Gentleman

Gretsch has made a lot of beautiful guitars, but none have earned more attention than the Chet Atkins Country Gentleman. Chet gave it a world of class; George Harrison brought it millions of young fans. Either way, with its 17” walnut-stained maple-laminate body, multi-ply aged binding, ebony fingerboard, “thumbnail” inlays and gleaming gold metal parts, the original 1962-style Country Gentleman still looks as great as it sounds.

Other features include two Filter’Tron humbuckers with individual volume knobs, 3-position pickup selector switch and 3-position Master Tone switch (often referred to as a “mud switch,” referring to its high end roll-off effect), master volume knob, simulated f-holes, double “muffler” mute system and standby switch. There’s also that gorgeous, gold Bigsby.

The Country Gentleman is as handsome as it is historic. And it has made a lot of important records along the way.
