This Icon NS-5 in Black Cherry Gloss keeps that formula intact with a quilted maple top, a fast-playing 3-piece maple neck, and a low B that stays clear and defined thanks to the 35" scale length.
The Aguilar DCB pickups and active 2-band EQ give you a lot of room to work without getting overly complicated. Dial in a clean, punchy fingerstyle tone, add some extra grind for rock gigs, or scoop things out for slap stuff. It all feels pretty natural on this bass.
One thing we noticed right away is that it doesn't have that overly heavy "five-string tax" that some basses seem to come with. At 8lbs 10oz, it's a comfortable hang whether you're rehearsing for three hours or playing the fourth set of the night.
